Do you think movie content affect mental health?

Post by Willie » Sat May 04, 2024 9:13 pm

From my perspective, movie content can have a significant impact on mental health. While uplifting and inspirational films can boost mood and provide a sense of escapism, movies depicting violence, trauma, or distressing themes may trigger negative emotions or exacerbate existing mental health issues. Unrealistic portrayals of body image and lifestyles in movies can contribute to feelings of inadequacy or low self-esteem. Therefore, it's essential to be mindful of the types of movies consumed and prioritize those that promote positive emotions and healthy perspectives.

The content of a movie can actually affect you psychologically, emotionally and physically because of how the story was presented. This is the reason why some movies are very good for someone who is passing through depression to watch because that movie can be able to lift their spirit and make them feel better.
