If you love meat, you surely love read meat. You cannot do without steak, right? However, read meat is not good for your body, especially for heart health. If you do not have any health issues yet, you can eat in moderation. But the question is what does moderation means? How much read meat we can eat per day or per week?

Eating red meat in moderation is key for health. Consuming more than 18 ounces (500 grams) of cooked red meat per week is linked to increased risks of colorectal cancer and heart disease. Limiting red meat to a few times a week, choosing lean cuts, and balancing with plant-based foods can help maintain a healthy diet. Individual health conditions may necessitate stricter limits.

For a healthy individual, consuming red meat in moderation is recommended. Exceeding dietary guidelines, such as more than 18 ounces per week according to some studies, may increase the risk of health issues like heart disease and certain cancers due to the saturated fat and heme iron content in red meat.

Eating red meat should be moderated due to its potential health risks. The American Heart Association recommends limiting red meat intake to less than 18 ounces per week to lower the risk of heart disease. Excessive consumption, linked to increased risks of colorectal cancer and cardiovascular problems, emphasizes the importance of balanced diets with diverse protein sources for overall health.
