What are your thoughts on how movies and TV shows have changed over the years?

In my opinion, all films and TV series have simply become many times more expensive, and I don't know why this is because the actors are almost the same and there are not many new directors. It seems to me that they are trying to impress the viewer with graphics, but they forget about the acting and the script, so maybe the picture itself turns out to be good.
