Title: What do you find helps with your anxiety before a test or exam?
Post by: Shortie on January 10, 2023, 08:52:50 PM
When it comes to exams or even tests such as driving tests it's normal to feel anxious but if you already suffer from anxiety away from tests and exams, the anxiety you feel can be a lot worse than you are normally used to, and depending on how you deal with it will depend on how much it helps you.

Whenever I feel more anxious than normal before an exam or test, I find ways to be able to take my mind off the situation coming up by either using meditation apps on my phone, listening to music that helps relax me, or just doing something I enjoy to take my mind off the situation. Whilst this doesn't completely take away my anxiety, it does help me feel less anxious and be able to focus better on the exam or test I have.

Deep breathing exercises, listening to calming music, positive self-talk, and visualizing have been found to be effective in reducing test anxiety. It's also helpful to break down the material into manageable chunks, practice regularly, and get enough sleep and exercise.

I will always do my part with preparations. Getting to know the points where I should read and all of that. However,  when there is an increased tension with exam preparations,  I tend to take it to God in prayers as putting it in his hands has always been my way of communicating my worries to him too.
