Millennials, born between the early 1980s and mid-1990s to early 2000s, face unique challenges and experiences that can contribute to various mental health issues. Some common mental health concerns among millennials include:

Anxiety disorders: Millennials are known to experience high levels of anxiety, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder. Factors such as financial pressures, academic and career expectations, social media comparisons, and the uncertainty of the future can contribute to heightened anxiety levels.

Depression: Depression is a significant mental health issue among millennials. The pressures of establishing a career, financial instability, relationship challenges, and a sense of disillusionment can contribute to feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of motivation or interest in life.

Burnout: Millennials often face intense work expectations, long hours, and a culture that values productivity and achievement. This can lead to burnout, characterized by chronic exhaustion, cynicism, and a reduced sense of accomplishment. The constant pressure to succeed can take a toll on mental health.

Stress-related disorders: Millennials experience high levels of stress due to various factors such as work demands, financial struggles, societal expectations, and the need to juggle multiple roles and responsibilities. This chronic stress can lead to stress-related disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or adjustment disorders.

Social media and technology-related issues: Millennials have grown up with the rise of social media and technology, which can contribute to mental health challenges. Issues such as social media comparison, cyberbullying, digital addiction, and a constant need for validation can impact self-esteem and overall well-being.

Financial stress: Many millennials face significant financial burdens, including student loan debt, high living costs, and limited job opportunities. Financial stress can lead to anxiety, depression, and a sense of hopelessness about the future.

Identity and existential concerns: Millennials often grapple with questions of identity, purpose, and finding meaning in life. Navigating personal values, cultural expectations, and societal norms can contribute to existential crises and mental health struggles.

Loneliness and social isolation: Despite being connected through technology, millennials can experience feelings of loneliness and social isolation. The decline of in-person social interactions, the pressure to maintain online personas, and a sense of disconnection from meaningful relationships can impact mental health

I don't agree when people categorizes mental health issues depending on generations. All humans share common emotions and specific events can trigger some issues, but what changes is what event is that. Even though for modern kids it is discrimination of social media, for older generations is discrimination in real life. But the core concept is the same, discrimination and the effects are equal.
