I have heard and read about love stories that have a happy ending but all that is just fairytale because, in the real world, things are kind of different and hard.

Everyone wants to fall in love with someone who is caring, loving, and understanding but looking at what is happening around us nowadays, relationships don't last long, every day you see divorce everywhere which makes me wonder, why did they get themselves into that relationship in the first place.

Do you think your temperament and moods affect your relationship in the long run? Or, do you think conflict created due to mood swings is just a temporary matter?

It is ok to be in bad mood sometime and tell your partner to shut up or go away. But afterwards you need to apologize and tell your partner that you were mentally disturbed. If you do not apologize, it might affect your relationship. If you over do this (tell him to shut up many times in a row), your relationship will collapse.

I am lucky to have a very caring and understanding wife that my relationship or love life was excellent. When my mood is not good, my wife would do something to perk me up like asking me to go shopping or dining out after office hours. For my part I couldn't say that I would also do the same but I had to reciprocate the kindness of my wife. Now that my wife is gone I can feel that I am having some mood swings once in a while.

Our mood will always be here with us irrespective of our relationships, it's now how you allow your mood affect your relationship is what you need to decide for yourself. Mood come and go but relationship stays longer with you.

We all go through mood swings & being in a relationship, having to compromise, can cause unwanted stress & anxiety to our moods. What helps me is to step out of my shoes & to think what it’s like from the other person’s standpoint. If I don’t want to be hurt by a bad mood, I really try my hardest to not do it to the one I love.
Being honest where you need that time alone & apart. My husband & I have a saying “Check yourself before you wreck yourself.” We also have code words. Where if we say something, that means we just need to be alone. It’s nothing personal but we need that alone time before we say something we regret.

My mood have never come in between my relationship. I know what's more important and what's not. There's something that's messing with my mood, is it something I would be willing to throw away my relationship for because I want to satisfy my mood and the ego it comes with? No, my mood can chill out for some time. I will be alright.
