It's not always easy to not blame yourself for something that you can do nothing about. We all go through something that was caused by someone else and often feel guilty about the situation and sit and blame ourselves for the problem and how things panned out and that often leads to us feeling down, depressed, and even anxious.

I know myself I have gone through so many issues where it hasn't been my fault that we have ended up in the situation we have but because I am in the situation, I blame myself for it and that often gets me down more. Even when people tell me it's not my fault and I shouldn't blame myself for it, my mind thinks differently.

It's easy for someone to say to you "Don't blame yourself" when something happens that is out of your control but when your mind is telling your different, it can feel like a two way street and not knowing what to do.

This is something that I have come to understand about life. No matter how much you worry and wail over something that's completely out of your control, it's never going to change. You will end up wearing yourself down and by then can't do the things within your control you should have focused on.

It's taken me years to realize sometimes things are out of my control. I used to suffer quite bad with depression because I blamed myself for everything. I still do occasionally but I am no where near as bad as I used to be.

I have learned to not do this. It is hard not to want to blame yourself! I have been better about this.

This is Stoicism philosophy where the core teaching is not to worry about things that are our of your control because indeed, you can't change it so being upset will change absolutely nothing. Blaming yourself in general is not prodactive thing.

There's no need beating yourself up about what you can't change or control. I learnt a long time ago to make peace with such thing and move. Accept things the way you see, do the one's which you can do and let nature take its course.
