For me I have always pondered what my life would be like with absolutely no mental health issues but I think people would think I'm "perfect" and I hate that word because nobodies perfect. Plus I wouldn't have been able to go on a path of finding out the true me if it wasn't for my mental health challenges.

Sometimes I wish I didn't have autism and that I wasn't neurodivergent. It's hard talking with nerotypical people, but then I remember that I'm not the only person who's neurodivergent and I just tend to hang out with other neurodivergent people. I do wish I didn't have social anxiety, and I wish I could come out of my shell and work on it more. :S In this world, there's no such thing as normal anyways. ;)

I do often wonder myself what my life would be like if I didn't have the mental health issues I do such as anxiety and depression. I often see people who have claimed mental health is all on your head and there is no such thing and I think to myself "I wonder what it would be like to be like you are" but then I think to myself, would I really want to be a person that says mental health isn't real knowing that it is.

I'm a firm believer that everyone suffers some kind of mental health in their life whether it be really bad or slight, they just don't always notice it.

I was living my normal life before I had my first heartbreak. It was a period that I was not happy to experience. I had a mental meltdown and it really got the better side of me at that particular moment too.

I would say that there is nothing like a perfect mental health or normal. There is no set parameter to measure being "normal". What seems normal for someone, might not be normal for others. I firmly believe that everyone faces some or the other mental issues in life, at least for a short duration. You might be under stress of work, family issues, loss of loved ones etc. These problems happen in everyone's life. When someone says that they are feeling low, they are not in the right mental and emotional status. Generally it comes and goes away, but if that feeling persists for long it can lead to mental disorder.

Why would I ever desire to have any mental health issue? First of all, it is not good for me and my life happiness and besides that, depending on the seriousness of mental health illenss, what if my parents have to take care of me for the rest of their lives? Being normal is the best thing. I can focus on anything in my life, get a job, get a gf, make a family etc.

My younger daughter is a neurodivergent teenager. She will be graduating from her High school next year and is in a process of finding a good college to suit her. I have lived with her for 17 long years and worked with neurodiversity for almost 15 years now. I can totally relate to your feelings and concerns. And I can assure you that not only neurodivergent but neurotypicals too have a burden to carry. And they too are learning a lot to cope up. I know that it's a bit more tough and challenging for a neurodiverse person. I am happy to meet you here on this forum.
