According to the scientific research on bipolar disorders, people are not born with bipolar disorders but if you have bipolar disorders, it is very likely that you had predisposition for bipolar disorders from birth. This predisposition gets triggered with your upbringing and stressful life events.

Bipolar disorder is categorized as chronic mental illness, which appear in people with bipolar predisposition during the height of their youth, i.e. between 20 and 40 years of age. Bipolar disorders symptoms worsen as you age.

While some people may be born with a genetic predisposition to bipolar disorder, it is not accurate to say that people are born with bipolar disorder itself. Rather, the development of bipolar disorder is likely a complex interplay of genetic, environmental, and neurobiological factors that interact over time to produce the symptoms of the disorder.

Studies have shown that bipolar disorder tends to run in families, suggesting that there is a genetic component to the disorder. However, not all people with a family history of bipolar disorder will develop the condition, and not everyone with bipolar disorder has a family history of the condition. Environmental factors, such as stress or trauma, can also trigger the onset of bipolar disorder in some individuals.
