Do you use 12 hours or 24 hours format?

Post by Ja sa bong » Tue Nov 28, 2023 5:10 pm

Which time telling format are you more familiar with? Do you find it more convenient to use 12 hours or 24 hours format when you're telling time?

12 hours format is more convenient for me because it doesn't confuse me like how using 24 hours format deals with me whenever I try using it.

I have always used the 12-hour format, as it doesn't seem as confusing and I grew up using that format. The 24-hour format just makes me feel like I have to use math to figure out the time, but the 12-hour format tells me the exact time it is.

In my country, the 24-hour format is used, so I also use it and I agree with you that it was difficult to remember the hour after the twelfth day, however, for me, the 12-hour format is also not very convenient because you always need to specify whether it is before the twelfth day or after

Even though I am familiar with making use of 24 hours format, it is not something that I'm very convenient with making use of.

It is the reason why I am always using 12 hours time format on my phone or any digital watch that I'm making use of.

We mainly use 12 hours here in the United States. It's uncommon to see a 24 hour format being used, unless you're using a Linux machine or a few game consoles like the GameCube you will only see a 12 hour clock being used. I often have to look up what the 24 hour format is, we call it "Military time" since it's the format used mainly by military officials. Though since I've been using Lubuntu more as my main operating system, it's been helping me get used to the format better.

I used to always prefer using the 12-hour format when I was younger but as I got older and now, I can't use the 12-hour format, it has to be the 24-hour format and if it's not available on a device for whatever reason, it does annoy me.

I use the twelve hour format for regular things and the twenty-four hour for work.

I am generally cool with any format of telling time that I encounter. My clock and my watch run a 12 hour time format while my phone runs a 24 hour format. I don't struggle with telling time on any of them.
