What are your thoughts on MeToo Movement

In the last couple of years, the Me Too movement has taken the world by storm. This is a voice against sexual harassment. The term Me Too was first used by Tarana Burke in 2006. However, in 2017, women, celebrities and commoners alike began using the hashtag #MeToo to express their solidarity with the movement. MeToo has now become a powerful expression to talk about the violence against women.

Me Too campaign has affected every walks of life. It was the Hollywood celebrities who first popularized the term via social media, however, the MeToo was not limited to entertainment industry, people in every other sectors began to pick up the term. The term is quite popular amongst women rights activists.

One of the most interesting things I saw regarding MeToo was how the fashion industry, especially lingerie industry, was affected. People began talking about how the lingerie industry is objectifying women. Interestingly, some lesser known lingerie companies even started using real women to market their products instead of perfect bodied models. Some models even rejected to be photoshopped and wanted yo appear with real shaggy boobs and buts.
