Dishwash or handwash

Post by ZandraJoi » Fri May 12, 2023 12:22 am

Which do you prefer to do? I prefer handwashing. I definitely prefer washing & not drying nor putting the dishes & silverware away. I have learned to use minimal water. What do you think of the companies that say dishwashers use less water than handwashing?
Do you wash yours right away? Once we are done eating, we wash the dishes. Only if it’s caked on do we soak anything.

Dishwashing is easier. However, my Dishwasher isn't actually plumbed in as my hot water system isn't working. So, I just fill the kettle, boil some water, and use the hot water to wash the dishes by hand when needed.

I have never had a dishwasher at home, and even at my parents', and I have been washing dishes myself all my life. And I will never buy a dishwasher, because I know that before I put the dishes in there, I need to wash them by hand first, so it just doesn't make sense, because I need to wash them twice, and it's faster and easier for me to wash them myself, and it will be even cleaner.

For dishes, we prefer to do these manually and these dishwashers are still not much popular in India and I am not interested in these

I have always hand-washed all my dishes but with us being a family of five, it can be a chore that you soon get fed up of. I have been looking into getting a dishwasher at some point, not only to make it easier when it comes to dishwashing but to also help me now due to my health and standing for long periods being an issue.

Lightly rinse/handwash than put in dishwasher for the cleanest dishes. I don't have a dishwasher anymore, I miss having one in my home.

I'm Indian and I put my dishwasher through trial by fire. After cooking curries and gravies, I scrape down food pieces/crusts and soak the dishes in water. This helps dislodge food pieces so dishes come out visibly clean.

Handwash can always save a lot of water but then you need to do it manually and can be a tiresome job to do but those who do it find it better than dishwasher
