It's the first time in 30 years that Cristiano Ronaldo have not been on the list of candidates to win the Ballon d'Or award. Cristiano Ronaldo have won the Ballon d'Or award 5 times but it seems his road to the biggest individual award have come to an end. Messi have won the award 7 times and he's on course to win it for a record 8th time.

C. Ronaldo has come to terms with reality when he decided to move to Saudi Arabia. It was one move that he gave deep thoughts to before making the switch. One thing that I like about him is that he is focused on playing his football and this issue of winning this award won't worry him that much.

The Ballon d'Or is no longer what it used to be. It's now a Lionel Messi award show just like how FIFA and UEFA are his show. Even in a complete football year where he only scored about 3 goals, he was given the UEFA player of the year and also the Ballon d'Or for being gifted the World Cup. It's a shit show in my opinion.

You are correct. I was surprised he won it as we have better players who would have won that trophy instead of him winning it.

After England lost the Euro 2024 final against Spain, it looked sealed that Jude Bellingham will not win the Ballon D'or. It's now between Rodri and Vinicus Jr.
