Do you lift weight in High Intensity Interval Training?

Post by Ja sa bong » Mon Nov 13, 2023 9:12 am

I do High Intensity Interval Training once every 3 months. Weight lifting isn't part of my drills when I'm doing a High Intensity Interval Training. Weight lifting slows down my intensity of training and it's why I had to drop it.

Yes, I include weights in my HIIT sessions. Combining high-intensity intervals with weightlifting, like kettlebell swings or dumbbell snatches, ramps up the intensity and boosts calorie burn. It’s effective for building strength and endurance. I like how it keeps workouts dynamic and challenging, and it also helps with muscle definition and overall fitness.

I can see why you’d drop weight lifting during HIIT—it’s all about maintaining that high intensity! I find that mixing in some bodyweight exercises or lighter weights can keep the heart rate up while still getting some strength training in. But it really depends on your goals. How do you feel about your current routine?
