Do you take any medication for your depression?

Many doctors are not usually quick to prescribe anti-depressants to someone unless they really do feel that they would benefit from taking them. Anti-depressants can be quite addictive and once you start taking them, you do in many cases need to be weaned off them by your doctor when you no longer need them.
I myself at the moment take two different kinds of anti-depressants due to my fibromyalgia one of the symptoms is depression. I at the moment take fluoxetine and amitriptyline and I have been taking them now since 2019. I find they work really well for me and even though I do get my bad days still, it's better than when I am without them. If I stop taking them for even a few days whilst I am waiting for a repeat prescription if I was a little late requesting, I start to notice the change.
Are you on any kind of anti-depressants for your depression?

My depression has been longstanding, so it was pretty much seen as clinical depression that needed to be treated with medication, so am indeed on anti-depressants.

I used to take medications long time ago and I am not sure if it helped me or not. True help comes from being more physically active and more active with people, being more social. Medications are most of the time evil and should be avoided if you don't have clinical depression.

Yes of course, I did took some drugs when I was depressed because I couldn't sleep for 5 days. I needed something to knock me out so that I can sleep. It was why my doctor recommended the pills I had to take for 3 months before I started sleeping better without it.

I have not been in a situation where I felt so down and not doing things the way that I felt it should be done. So, in essence, I have not been depressed for long and taking drugs is always not part of my healing process. I prefer being motivated to do better instead of taking drugs when I feel depressed.
